Colchester United were beaten for the first time under manager Joe Dunne after losng 3-1 at Yeovil Town this afternoon.

Paddy Madden put the Glovers ahead after 20 minutes and although Jabo Ibehre equalised five minutes later, Madden scored again to give the Glovers a half-time lead.

Brian Wilson hit the bar with a curling effort early in the second half but James Hayter made the points safe for Yeovil, as the U's were beaten.

Oh well, some you win, some you lose.. never mind, we have had a good start under your new regime, so head's up and looking forward to the next challenge against Stevenage on Saturday. Looking for sweet revenge for last season's debacle. Up the U's!!!

The ghost of John Ward hung over Huish Park on Saturday, for this was a performance that epitomised JW's reign. Yeovil nullified the threat of Eastmond controlling the game from midfield and wrestled the initiative away from Colchester. Defensively we were poor and, the front three were given poor service. Where was the captain when we needed him? Answer - completely anonymous!
