Colchester United have signed Arsenal duo Craig Eastmond and Sanchez Watt on loan.

Eastmond, 21, can play in either defence or midfield and has enjoyed loan spells at Millwall and Wycombe Wanderers.

Striker Watt has had spells on loan at Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Southend United and Crawley Town.

The 21-year-old has represented England under-19, under-17 and under-16 level.

The young pair will go straight into the U's squad for their home game with Hartlepool United tomorrow.

The arrival of Eastmond and Watt at Colchester adds to that of Jabo Ibehre, who joined them on a three-month loan deal from League One rivals MK Dons earlier today.

2 great signings and for 3 months too!!! Arsenal fan at work speaks very highly of these 2 players and he reckons both would get in any championship team so for the U's to get them is a right result!! Looking forward to seeing the 3 new signings and this is also great competition for places in the team. All 3 are very attacking players so hoping for a few more goals. Good luck to Joe and Mark. Up the U's!

Very good Joey, signed 2 strikers and one mid, definitely looking more like an attacking style then a defensive Ward. These 2 arsenal youngsters, have very bright futures, so well done Joe Dunne. Looking forward to a Col Utd game, which I haven't said in a while. 442 please Joe. What does this mean for Morrison? Dropped?

Hopefully the football is an improvement, from the Ward days. I'm new to this, and I for one is looking forward to the attacking threat we can pose with this new look squad. Hopefully, Joe will play Massey/Watt down the wings and Freddie/Ibehre up front. We need a new look attack to motivate the rest of the squad by scoring goals.

A potentially monumental day for the club. In more than 50 years supporting U's, I cannot recall anything that comes close to the appointment of a manager, assistant and three very positive looking signings in a matter of just a few hours. It is perhaps now clear why Cowling needed to confirm the managerial appointments today but curious that it has all happened so quickly after Wards departure. I am only sorry that I can't make it to a game until Bury in November but optimistic that we could be looking up rather than down by that time. I certainly wish I could be there on Saturday to witness a return to attacking football and a play to win set up from Dunne and Kinsella.

Well lets hope that they play and not get left out like the other new faces?
