Morrison was dropped for football reasons (From Gazette)

Maybe your decisions need to be questioned on majority of the things that happen. Mostly the use of subsitutions did you know you can make 3 a game?

JW should play 4-4-2 with Clinton up front with sears... really can't go wrong.

It really doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out with Clinton's goal record hes been known as a poacher. They are best played with another guy up front not on their own. Maybe JW really hasn't done hes research.

You protest too much and too late Mr Ward, if this was this was the real reasons why did you not say so earlier, doing it too late will never taken seriously?

There were no substitutions made until Wordsworth suffered his injury. I think the real reason why is that Morrison would have been the obvious choice to come on after say 70 minutes and JW just didn't want him to play after speaking out to the press. However, his hand was then forced. Whichever way you look at it changes should have been made sooner in that humidity.

Either way it doesn't matter. It's good that the Gazette should ask questions unlike BBC Essex that in general skirt around the main issues to placate JW.

JW is not 'protesting.' He is simply
putting the record straight and I believe him.I would like Clinton to be successful at Colchester and perhaps, when he is fully fit, he will be.But from now he should
let his football do the talking.

I'm not a fan of JW and I agree with fans that think it's time for him to go.

Do I believe that the Morrison thing?? Not really. But for whatever reason he was dropped, Ward is the current manager and fighting to save his job (and I have to respect that). He tried a different tactic but it didn't work. I hope more than anything that he tries a 4-4-2 formation at home in the next two games but somehow doubt he will.

If we don't have a win after the next two games then I think it's time to say "thanks and goodbye".

If we leave it another 5 weeks or 12 games it will be more than likely too difficult to turn the season around and will find ourselves in relegation battle for the rest of the season.

I know the club is struggling with it's finances but I'm sure there would plenty of applications should the managers position become available. A decent manager will be able to make a team good with average players. On paper our team is better than average (in my opinion) and we just need someone who can bring out the best in them.

We all want the best for Colchester United (including RC) and we all have different opinions on how that can be achieved.

Although i agree with previous comments, i feel sure that if JW had a problem with Clinton then surely he would have put Massey on.

I agree completely with you. Who know's what JW's theory is behind his selections and formations. He must see something in training that nobody else does.

The only thing I can think of is that Massey isn't fully match fit yet.

As the players and "Manager" keep talking to the Gazette perhaps the elusive Robbie Cowling could talk for once. I would like him to come out and back or sack Ward. If he refuses to sack a Manager who has 1 win in 19 games, couldnt motivate an Alcoholic in a pub and makes Chris Coleman look a good manager then I would like him to explain to the fans why he wont sack Ward. What does the Media Manager Matt Hudson do at the club? Not a lot obviously. Try advising your boss that speaking to the local rag wouldnt hurt one bit!

This is what ive been saying for ages the club seems to distance itself from its hardcore supporters, in failing to keep us informed whats happening at the club. You send anything in to the club criticising and I gaurantee you will not get a reply back.

Matt Hudson is very approachable. As are the rest of the back room staff. You might not like what you hear but they do listen.

This is my first ever posting and I join the Gazette ranks as someone who has actively supported my home team club for 50+ years.
I see that the paper devoted a page of it's sport section today to a selection of comments submitted online by fans. Undoubtedly this makes a cheap page-filler for the paper although, on the plus side, it has served to further raise the profile in terms of the disgruntled feelings and current state of anxiousness of fans. This can only be a good thing.
As usual, I saw many of the home games last season. There were very few really positive performances - the number of uninspiring displays then, and again since the start of this season, is the thing that sticks in the memory-bank above all else. There were a couple of really devastating and embarrassing defeats in the mix too.
There's no getting away from it: the tactics enforced by JW are just plain boring; The bulk of the players are not motivated, that is transparent.
I believe that the squad isn't a bad one at all but potential play-makers seem stifled, uneasy and littering their play with unforced errors and poor judgements. I would single out guys like Wordsworth and Henderson as prime culprits - but they are not alone by any means.
The defence at times looks wide open and, had it not been for a series of excellent stops from Mark C, the picture would look even worse.
Statistics speak for themselves with no away goals in competitive games so far this season and, of the three strikes at home, only one claimed by a member of the forward-line.
What is there to cheer us right now? I would suggest very little indeed. The immediate future looks as bleak as JW's body language on a Saturday afternoon.
The Club must act quickly to 'stop the rot' and put in place more robust and tactically-alert management......in the meantime the gulf that's emerged so alarmingly between silent-Club and vocal-fans will just keep widening....and the turnstiles will tick over even less than they do at present.

I believe we are all passionate about the U's that's why we comment on this site, how can we get the fans to fill the WHCS when there is no passion shown by anyone involved! A club needs to score goals and win games end of story and for the last few season's we seem happy to be solid and not conceed many goals....we just want to go back to the Parky days of good attacking footy scoring goals and get into the top three and the fans will start to return, until then we are going nowhere fast. Up the U's!

I totally agree with all your points. Hopefully Ward and Co have read this, be aide this is what everyone is saying in a nutshell.

I'm pleased to see that Ward reads this site as he wouldn't have talked about Morrisons dismissal if he didn't. Please Ward take in all these views from the fans, and IF you want to stay, then play an attacking formation 442, and make the game fun. But believe me the longer it takes for Col Utd to score on Saturday, the louder the chants for you to leave will be.
