This league is so close at the moment apart from the top 5.
Rochdale's defending was as good as I have seen this season and they are near the bottom.

I would have liked to have seen Sears up front for longer, but hey ho, another point closer to Stevenage.

Another shocking, poor performance by Col Utd. Why does Ward prefer a 451 formation then a 442??? He should have played Woody down the left and Hendo down the right with Gilly and Sears up front. That would have been more fun, as Rochdale's defence wasn't that good, under pressure (also shown by their lowly position. Rochdale looked like a league 2 side, so it shows that Col Utd play league 2 football. Shocking!!! substition too, Rowlands was having a good game. Izzet should have been subbed off. Bond is a good player but the lack of playing time, caused a poor performance by him too. Wilson needs to go and so does his Uncle Clueless Ward.

Also Ward stated on the radio that he has been telling his team that Rochdale are a great team, so expect a tough game. I'm sorry Ward I disagree with the ways you motivate a team, you need to say that Rochdale are 2nd bottom and that we should be attacking for most of the game and NEED to beat them.

Good result against a strong team, who are on a good run, as Ward said! Oh hang on... They're second from bottom... Hmm!

Wilson and izzet were very poor, I thought Magnus Eastman and Williams, and maybe Gillespie came out of it ok but generally players just didn't seem up for it.
Can't agree about Rochdale defence, I thought they made some terrible passers in and around their own box that many teams would have made them suffer, maybe a point closer to Stevenage, but I'm pretty sure if we play anything like that at Stevenage/Charlton/H
uddersfield either Sheffield teams then we will not be walking away with any points.

Its all in the math, no width = backwards passing + one up front = no shots on target + boring motionless football + 3000 fans coming to watch.
Paying £32 for a ticket, hot dog and a cup of tea and watching 90 mins of $#!? = no more games this season....waste of time and it is not entertainment.

Yet another game that will definately NOT bring fans through the gates. Abysmal throughout. No quality, no flair, no get up and go, in fact, not much of anything.

All these games are doing is making the decision not to renw my season ticket next season all the more easier.

First match I have watched at the community stadium since the Stevenage fiasco, reason I have not made any posts on here for a few weeks. Please ask me? why did I bother to travel all the distance from Southampton to watch a team that had no commitment desire or passion to win a game of football. I've watched a lot of football games the last few weeks in both Championship, Div one and two games,and it certainly opens your eyes to see why certain teams achieve success and others do not. I could easily tell you why,but dont worry super waligu I will keep my trap shut. If people are stupid enough to believe that JW is the man to take this club forward then let it be. Surely now is the time to start blooding some of the younger players otherwise we will not know if they are up to the standard required, especially if a load of the senoir players are released end of the season.

Agree with the comment about youth, if we're going unto have to reduce the numbers of the squad were going to have to start playing a lot more of the younger guys, bender is the best example of this who has played a couple of seasons ago but not really ever since

Don't take it personally Crazy, but I do often wonder if you HATE Colchester United.
You say that you have watched Championship football and L1 and L2 recently, and make out that everyone else that you watch is playing wonderful football. Truth is that Preston and Walsall drew 0-0 and Scunthorpe drew 0-0 with Brentford. Thats on top of Westham (championship best team) drawing 0-0. There was other games that also finished 0-0 but I think you have the basis of what I am trying to say here. Sure I would like to see a win of any kind, or a defeat/draw with a more exciting football, but that is not always going to happen.

My advice Mr Crazy, is to keep staying away and perhaps go to Arsenal, because they are the only team that promise goals at both ends. Or follow an American sport, such as basketball, because that sport is made for people with a short attention span.

What happened to the minutes applause for the great Frank Carson. WAs it yet another c**k up by the boy referee.His display especially in the second half while they all stopped for a break and a chat was laughable.

Yes mate, he did not blow his whistle for the first 25 minutes and then stopped every play in the second half.
He also never gave a hand ball pen (which I agree with) but then gave a free kick for the same thing 2 minutes later.

Once again we failed to beat a relegation-zone team, so I'm glad I wasn't there.
Can't go to the PNE game due to another commitment, but the Sheffield Utd one should be "a real cracker", for the lads play better against the better teams.

No I dont hate Colchester United super waluigi ,otherwise I would not do a near 340 mile round trip from my home to watch the U's. I did say that I had watched other games in the last few weeks,but I never mentioned that everyone is playing wonderfull football. That would never be the case as all teams have setbacks now and again. In my opinion the manager plays a major role to how his team plays and performs. What I have seen is a few clubs that have had the fighting edge over their opponents, just by their sheer determination and fight to win the ball, players with flair knowing where the other is moving into space to create openings, something I never witness to much with John Ward's teams. I always read your views and thoughts super, and believe it or not I think many of your blogs are spot on and 100% correct and a few otherwise that we wont mention. To me football is entertainment and that has been missing not just in one match this season at the communty stadium but far to many others. I dont need to take your advice in staying away, I intend to after watching such clueless shambolic so called football on Saturday.

I think we have a good chance of beating Preston. I think you picked the wrong game to make a come back attendance. Rochdale have scored the least goals and produced the most bore games.

I'm not looking forward to the Preston game, could be revenge by them, plus with that performance against a rubbish Rochdale side, I'm scared that we will be thrashed

I think this game was summed up on the League Show Saturday night, and the only thing they showed and called it the highlight of the game was a header over the bar? I don't think poor is strong enough word to use, whoever the opposition they have to be beaten if you want to progress, our ability and capabilities to achieve this just could not been seen in this game.
