Macauley Bonne scored twice as Colchester United's under-21s continued their fine season with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
John McGreal's side have now kept four successive clean sheets in Professional Development League Two and have won eight of their 11 matches played in 2016.
Colchester, who featured the likes of Richard Brindley and Tosin Olufemi, got off to the perfect start when Bonne curled a superb shot into the top corner to give them the lead inside the second minute.
U's keeper Dillon Barnes made a good save to deny Forest striker Brit Assombolonga midway through the first half but at the other end, Forest's Swedish keeper Tim Erlandsson foiled Bonne and Drey Wright volleyed wide as the hosts went in leading at the break.
Erlandsson once again saved from Bonne just before the hour mark before midway through the second half, Bonne doubled the U's lead when he slotted home from Kieran Bailey's cutting pass.
Barnes saved from Toby Edser near the end, as Colchester's youngsters claimed another impressive win.
Colchester's under-21s are back in action on Thursday lunchtime when they host Millwall at Florence Park.
