Colchester United manager Kevin Keen was delighted with his side’s performance after they recorded a 1-0 win at Blackpool this afternoon.
Chris Porter scored the U’s winner in the second half at Bloomfield Road to help them register their third win in four matches.
Colchester, who have not conceded a goal in more than five and a half hours of football, are now eight points adrift of safety with five games remaining in League One.
Keen said: “I’m extremely happy and it was a fantastic performance.
“We were really good defensively and I thought that we created a lot of chances – I thought the supporters were unbelievable too and overall, it was a really, really good day.
“We saw the last ten minutes out really well and showed a bit of experience and quality.
“We were the better side throughout the whole of the 90 minutes.
“We’ve been on a good run and we have good players who are performing really well and we’ve found that key to the door a little bit.
“I have a big smile and it’ll probably be on there for a couple of days!”
