Karl Duguid and Duncan Forbes have been inducted into Colchester United’s Hall of Fame.

The duo were given the honour at the U’s Former Players Association dinner at the Weston Homes Community Stadium on Saturday night, where a host of the club’s ex-players reunited for their annual dinner.

Duguid was present to receive his accolade, while Forbes' award was accepted on the night by Colchester's 1971 FA Cup hero, Ray Crawford.

Duguid, who played more than 400 times for the U's after coming through the club's youth system, was the Fans Inductee for 2016, after finishing top of the vote.

A versatile performer, he played under a host of managers during his 14 years at Colchester and in 2006, led the U's to the second tier for the first time in their history.

Duguid then helped the U's to their highest-ever finish in the Championship, the following season.

Former defender Forbes has also been inducted into the U's Hall of Fame, having made more than 250 appearances for the club after joining them in 1961.

Forbes later joined Norwich City and went on to make nearly 300 appearances, during his time at Carrow Road.
