Kevin Keen admits he may have to rethink his approach after Colchester United’s long winless run continued.

The U’s manager says he intends to consider all aspects of his job as he aims to turn around his side’s miserable run of form in League One.

Colchester’s 3-0 defeat at Scunthorpe United means they have now gone 14 league games without a victory and are now seven points adrift of safety.

Keen is yet to win a league match in six attempts since taking over more than a month ago.

He admits he may have to come up with an alternative way of playing, in an attempt to get the U’s back on track.

Keen said: “I’ve tried to change a few things but maybe I need to sit down and have a good look at myself and the way that I’ve tried to change things and do things and come up with another plan.

“Maybe I need to have a rethink because since I came into the club we haven’t won a league game, so maybe I need to have a look at myself and try and come up with a different way of playing.

“It’s something I’ll need to look at over the next week or so.

“I have to decide whether to change things or to stick with what I’ve been trying to do.

“It’s been a tough introduction to management and I can’t ask for any more than this group are giving me but maybe I need to sit and have a rethink.

“Before I came in, we were scoring goals and letting in goals.

“At this moment in time, we’re letting in goals, not scoring as many goals as we were before and not getting results.

“Do I need to bring more players in? Should I be playing more of the young players who have come through the system? I have to think of everything.”
