Versatile Colchester United defender Alex Wynter is set for a spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
The 22-year-old, who has made six appearances for Colchester this season, is set to undergo surgery on the problem and could be out for a number of weeks.
It leaves the U’s short of cover at right-back, with Richard Brindley and Kane Vincent-Young also currently sidelined.
U’s boss Tony Humes said: “He’s got a bit of floating bone in his ankle.
“He needs it removing and I think he’s going to be out for a couple of months but we’ll wait and see and it depends on the prognosis.
“He’s having an operation to remove that (bone) and will just have to wait and see what recovery time is.
“(Right-back) is an issue that we have to make sure we are aware of.
“If there are any issues with Tosin, we may have to go into the loan market.
“Richard Brindley is still a couple of weeks away and Alex Wynter will be out for a few months so it’s something we must be aware of.
“However, we’re hoping that we won’t have to cross that bridge.”
