George Moncur is back in the running for a place in Colchester United’s starting line-up.
But U’s boss Tony Humes says he must decide whether or not to include the midfielder in his team at Fleetwood Town tomorrow.
Moncur was surprisingly absent for Colchester’s goal-less draw with Oldham Athletic, on Tuesday night.
The 22-year-old, who looked disappointed to be substituted in the U’s defeat at Peterborough United last weekend, did not feature against the Latics.
But after speculation about his future, Moncur is in Humes’ squad for the game against Cod Army at Highbury Stadium.
However, the midfielder faces a battle to regain his place, after his replacement in the U’s starting line-up Sammie Szmodics performed well against Oldham.
Humes said: “George has been back in training yesterday and he’ll travel to Fleetwood with us today, so he’s back in the squad.
“He was unavailable for Tuesday night and the main thing is that he’s back involved with what we’re doing.
“From our perspective on Tuesday, there were no issues and no concerns.
“We have some selection decisions to make but that’s the way that we want it to be.
“George is back in the squad but Sammie did well and I have a decision to make for Saturday’s game.”
