Colchester United manager Joe Dunne admits it is imperative he signs players with the right character this summer.
The U’s boss is closing in on new signings, as he prepares his side for a brand new campaign in League One.
Dunne admits that his side were not strong enough at times in certain games, last season.
And as he edges closer to bringing in new faces, mental toughness is high on his list of player attributes.
Dunne said: “The recruitment strategy is character and that will be key.
“They will already tick the ability box.
“Mentally, we need to be stronger as a group at moments when we need it, in important moments in games.
“Individuals need to be mentally stronger and that’s part of what we want to bring to the group for next season.”
