Colchester United have bolstered their attacking options with the signing of QPR striker Troy Hewitt on loan, until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old forward has spent time on loan at Bury and Dagenham and Redbridge and goes straight into Colchester's squad for their home game against Crewe on Saturday.

Colchester boss Joe Dunne had been looking for reinforcements, with Freddie Sears ruled out with a knee injury and Jabo Ibehre suspended for three matches, following his red card at Hartlepool United on Tuesday night.

Great to see that we have acquired an additional forward to bolster our front line, but this has always been our weak point and with Jabo out for three games, we all hope that Troy can inject the same firepower and determination that Jabo has! Come on you U's!!

I find myself having to agree with most of your comments Ozzie, and this is no exception. However, Jabo will be an extremely tough act to follow and I think we are going to miss him big time.

Yes Jabo has been on top form, Sears playing well. Both missing isn't good.
