Billy Clifford wants more goals after getting his scoring account off the mark in stunning style.

And the Colchester United midfielder revealed that extra shooting practice in training helped him find the net for the first time.

Clifford’s superb long-range strike helped the U’s on their way to an impressive 2-0 win over Yeovil Town, on Tuesday night.

It was the 20-year-old’s first-ever league goal and the on-loan Chelsea playmaker is hoping there will be many more to come.

Clifford said: “I’ve got my first goal now and hopefully the rest will now follow for me - I’ve set my standards high now!"

After a few average performances for Col U, Bily really came into his own against Yeovil, he crowned man of the match display, with a brill goal.

Only 20 years old, he has the potential to be a future star for Chelsea..In the meantime ( if he continues to impress) he can do us a heap of good.

Would like to have more of the same from the lads at Stevenage.

The goal was a cracker, as good as any ever seen at the new stadium. The printed paper says the gaffer told him to shoot on sight and he intends to do just that. If he can manage a few more of those goals, we could be on our way to safety, and he could be on his way to breaking into the Chelsea first team. Well done Billy, but now let your feet do the talking.
