Dunne's delight after U's bounce back in style

Gazette: Fine strike - Billy Clifford scored his first-ever senior goal as Colchester United beat Yeovil Town 2-0. Fine strike - Billy Clifford scored his first-ever senior goal as Colchester United beat Yeovil Town 2-0.

Joe Dunne hailed the response of his Colchester United players after they beat in-form Yeovil Town to bounce back in style tonight.

Goals from on-loan Chelsea midfielder Billy Clifford and Freddie Sears helped the U's see off the Glovers 2-0, just three days after losing 5-1 at home to Tranmere Rovers.

Dunne said: “All the credit goes to my players and my staff, to Mark Kinsella, Karl Duguid and everybody else, because they really put in shifts.

“It was needed after what happened last Saturday (against Tranmere).

“We had a great reaction from the players and we need to show more of that now to get out of where we are, because that’s the kind of performance it’s going to take.

“It’s not going to work all the time but when it does, it looks good and it was needed."

sadly when you have had the results of this season and on the back of a home hammering facing a team in form on a cold Tuesday that's the kind of crowd we will get, go on a run from now and hopefully fans will start coming back,
good effort lets hope it continues Saturday and theres a good following as its just down the road

I can't believe how bad there were on Saturday and then how good they were last night, Almost didn't go yesterday so glad I did.

Jabo was excellent last night and I thought Tom Eastman made a huge difference.

Such a different team last night, I feel we have the team to stay up. And players are putting their mark on making us stay up too. Clifford was outstanding lastnight the goal was superb. Also Garmston did a brilliant run to assit Sears. I can see signs of dedication in this squad I just hope we see this every week.

What a difference ! Totally enjoyed last night. But why has it taken JD so long to sink in that Eastman is a better choice than Thompson ? Still onwards and , hopefully, upwards.

I respect your comments Mr Honest. It's nice that some of the fans give the praise as well as negative comments on this website.

Where are the rest of you????? Especially the ones who had already assumed we were relegated.

I know it's only one win but hopefully it's onwards and UPWARDS.
