Joe Dunne hailed the response of his Colchester United players after they beat in-form Yeovil Town to bounce back in style tonight.
Goals from on-loan Chelsea midfielder Billy Clifford and Freddie Sears helped the U's see off the Glovers 2-0, just three days after losing 5-1 at home to Tranmere Rovers.
Dunne said: “All the credit goes to my players and my staff, to Mark Kinsella, Karl Duguid and everybody else, because they really put in shifts.
“It was needed after what happened last Saturday (against Tranmere).
“We had a great reaction from the players and we need to show more of that now to get out of where we are, because that’s the kind of performance it’s going to take.
“It’s not going to work all the time but when it does, it looks good and it was needed."
