Joe Dunne has told Colchester United fans to fasten their seatbelts for a rollercoaster ride between now and the end of the season.

The U’s boss predicts there will be plenty of ups and downs in League One - and thinks the relegation picture can “change in a heartbeat”.

Colchester’s survival battle continues tomorrow when they host faltering Tranmere Rovers, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

The U’s lie in 21st position in the table - a point adrift of safety - but Dunne is expecting plenty of changes near the bottom of the table with 14 games to go.

Dunne said: “I think there’ll be plenty of twists and turns, between now and the end of the season."

See Friday's Gazette for more on this story and a full preview of Colchester United's home clash with Tranmere Rovers.

I expected a 'we're going to crash' comment after the headline.

Anyway, it'll be a bumpy ride for sure. Heart is optimistic, but head not so, unfortunately and I think we'll struggle to avoid relegation. Like Crazy said, it's all about the results now and not pretty football imho.

When we get to the stadium, let's make a noise, cheer on our players. It does make a difference. Watch Anglia News at 6 pm this evening for the message from Bobby Hunt and various fans along these lines.

Agree with you Boris, all true U's fans should be going to all the home games left now an make loads of noise and support the team, I feel with that behind the team we will win tomorrow, if we can then win on tuesday we can get on a run to get out of trouble.
The club needs you all tomorrow, all those fans that turn up for chelsea FA cup games....get your thermals on and get down the WHCS. Up the U's!

I also agree with you Boris. There are teams out there where the support is continued from start to finish. Why are we so different lets make a good spirit in the stadium and hopefully walk away with points.

We need a good spirit shown by us fans, to motivate the players. Lets stand loud and proud tmr. Maybe a change of the drummer too, does he fall asleep after about 10 minutes?

Yes like everybody else I agree, the players need vocal support. That's why I want to see Joe on the touchline pushing the players on. The difference the noise from a crowd makes, was surely evident at Roots Hall this week. It made the game feel like a cut throat cup tie and we need to do the same. I'm hoping the weather is not to cold up in Essex as weather reports suggest.

Roots Hall is a joy to visit, small and intimate, like Layer Road, And we have to make do with the cavernous spaces of the breezeblock palace.
Crazy, the Gazette's current local forecast for the afternoon is 1.7 degrees and overcast, with a bit of a north-east wind, so wrap up well. At least there should be no rain or snow.

Like the vast majority of fans I feel it is absolutely vital that from now to the end of the season we maintain positivity. It is incredibly difficult sometimes when you see your team struggling as they are but this season's successes could come to a single moment. If negativity from the stands bleeds into the players then it could be game over. All the why's and what-fors can wait until the season is over when, hopefully, we're in league 1 still. This is do-able and not impossible and if we can start another bank of 5 games and win 3/5 like we have the last then we will be fine. Anyone with any affiliation to Col Utd needs to show between now and the end of the season.
