O'Toole extends loan spell with Pirates
4:04pm Monday 28th January 2013 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Extension - John-Joe O'Toole will stay at Bristol Rovers until April, after extending his loan move with the Pirates.
Colchester United midfielder John-Joe O’Toole has extended his loan spell with League Two side Bristol Rovers.
The U's midfielder will now remain with the Pirates until April 2.
O’Toole has made a big impact since arriving at the Memorial Stadium on loan from Colchester, last month.
The 24-year-old has made four appearances for John Ward’s side, helping them claim three victories in that time.

I've been a staunch Joe Dunne fan, but to me he has got it wrong with Jon Jo. He should have at least been on the bench.
It is a pity that JD doesn't seem to like the cut of John-Joe's jib. But it happens that every manager takes against some player or other. Remember how Lambert froze Johnnie Jackson out, forcing him to leave? He was a huge loss.

about the two month extension of John-Joe's loan move to Bristol Rovers.
The good news is that the U's
insisted on a 24 hour recall clause in the deal. The bad news is that it is
unlikely to be activated.
This is the warm tribute John Ward
paid to John-Joe yesterday
(see Bristol Post,January 28):
"He brings a strength and character
to the club and he wears his heart on
his sleeve. He is a ball winner and always gives everything. He is what we need at this club.He cares about the
team and that is why he has endeared himself to the fans."

He then went on to play the next 28 games on the trott before his knee ligament problem which resulted in him being off for the best part of a year.I remember the comments about his first tackle back after he came back, and what john ward said about the re-action of the players after he played his first ninety minutes.
The last two seasons he has been plagued with groin strains on both legs which it would appear seem to have been sorted.
I looked on the fans forum to see what they said about him.very interesting-they certainly "love him " down there and has certainly made an impression.
Anyone interested look at bristol rovers fans forum and go to "rovers talk-jonjoe staying for a further two months.
Joe must be very confident in the squad if he can leave jonjoe at Bristol.I'd fancy him in our relegation battle, gives 100%. !

Clearly from Dunnes comments recently, he wants a 'pack mentality'.
I think this move is more about O'Toole as a human than a player.
