Joe Dunne has told his out-of-favour players they can leave Colchester United on loan.

John-Joe O’Toole has already been allowed to join former boss John Ward at League Two strugglers Bristol Rovers.

And fellow midfielder Andrew Bond, who has already spent time at Crewe Alexandra this season, was also on the verge of leaving on loan last week before the deal collapsed.

The likes of Ian Henderson and Ben Coker have also been informed they can pursue regular football elsewhere, as U’s boss Dunne reshapes his squad.

Dunne has made six new signings so far this month, with more set to follow before the window closes in a fortnight’s time.

And that has meant that several regulars under previous boss Ward now find themselves down the pecking order at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

Dunne said: “I’ve always had a policy here that if you’re not in the team, you can go and get games on loan.

“That benefits us in the long run and I’ve said that from day one."

Bond and Henderson send them on loan. Shame if Coker goes always thought he played well. At least he can defend unlike Rose. Would prefer White at left back though.

I think the players mentioned are the type of players that need to leave.

I know Duguid, Izzet, White and cousins are loved and loathed by the masses in equal measures. But the fact is, they all earn smaller wages and are great squad players makes them worth keeping.

Henderson, Bond and Coker are either too good or to expensive to have as a luxury subs when there fees/wages could be better spent else where.

I don't imagine Bond is high up the pay structure as he came from non league. However money saved is money that can be spent on new players

Can anyone tell me wha's wrong with Boker? Because from what I saw of him he is a decent left back and hes attacking and pace is of a high standard.

Coker is too lightweight. He isn't a full back, he's a midfielder. Dunne obviously has his reasons for not wanting him and that's something only Joe knows. Henderson unfortunately is a player who believes L2 to be beneath him and has snubbed 2 loan deals so far, much to the frustration of Joe Dunne as it means we have to keep on paying him to do nothing. He also seems too interested in selling his Herbalife products.

Well with the weather like it is there is a little breathing space before the next game, when the dunne best eleven can hopefully be fielded.
