Colchester United manager Joe Dunne felt his side deserved a draw from their match at in-form Bournemouth.

The U’s were narrowly beaten 1-0 at Dean Court and have lost seven of their last eight matches, in all competitions.

Lewis Grabban’s well-taken goal just before half-time proved the difference between the two sides but Colchester produced a stirring second-half display which left Bournemouth glad to hear the final whistle.

Dunne said: “I thought that we deserved a draw - our game plan was spot on.

“We got back to basics a bit based on the selections that we had to make with the suspensions and illnesses that we had.

“I thought the back four were excellent in the first half but we switched off for their goal.

“I’m disappointed that the ball has ended up in the net and I think our goalkeeper could have saved it but I would need to see it again.

“He made some good saves in the match.”

The lack of a quality marksman will kill Col U this season. The inability to tuck away chances will eventually see this side relegated at the end of the season and, with many better teams than us already in league 2, it will take several seasons to get back again! Why the club has allowed this situation to develop absolutely astounds me as this has been obvious to many of us for a very long time. At the end of the day, the club will get what it deserves. People are not attending matches because the club haven't bothered to do anything about it. The so called period of stability will end up costing the club more than a few good quality players would have done. However, I forgot we were under JW who only had eyes for poor quality players!

What game were you watching, your paper talks sh1te. By the look of the comments here you only have 1 fan. Yes you should of had a penalty but the game should have been well over by that time. Wake up before you go down with Portsmouth.
