Colchester United's poor run of form continued this afternoon when they were beaten 2-0 at home by Oldham Athletic.
Goals either side of half-time from Jean-Yves M'Voto and Matt Derbyshire gave the Latics victory, at a freezing Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Colchester went close through Jabo Ibehre's header, early on.
But Oldham had the better of the first half after that and took the lead on 32 minutes through defender M'Voto, who powerfully headed in from Lee Croft's corner.
Colchester switched to a 4-4-2 formation at half-time, with Freddie Sears switching to a more central postion.
But they fell further behind just after the hour when Matt Derbyshire's low effort was saved by Cousins before appearing to go into the net off Brian Wilson.
Colchester sent on Drey Wright, Alex Gilbey and Clinton Morrison in a bid to get back into the game.
But apart from an Ibehre chance, they rarely threatened the Oldham goal as they fell to a sixth defeat in their last seven games.
