John Ward has urged his side to show the right attitude when they return to action against Brentford tonight.
Colchester United have not kicked a ball in anger for more than a fortnight, following the recent inclement weather.
The U’s are set to resume their campaign when they host the play-off chasing Bees, at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
Colchester are hoping to register back-to-back league wins for the third time this season, against a Brentford team who lie four points above them in the League One table.
Colchester boss Ward believes how his players approach tonight’s clash holds the key to them securing another positive result.
Ward said: “I recently heard the phrase “attitude is a little thing that can make a big difference” and I think that’s very important.
“Attitude and approach is first and foremost.
“We had to hang in there a little bit at Griffin Park when we went there earlier in the season.
“In the end, we finished off on a high with an excellent free-kick from Anthony Wordsworth, who has that in his locker.
“We know it’ll be a tough game tonight and when Brentford are on form they’re a good team but so are we.”
