Ian Henderson says he is claiming Colchester United’s all-important winning goal following their 1-0 win at Leyton Orient.
Henderson insists he got a touch to Karl Duguid’s cross, after he challenged O’s defender Terrell Forbes for the ball in the six-yard box.
The ball ended up in the back of the net and it proved to be the U’s all-important winner, helping them claim victory in an even encounter at Brisbane Road.
Henderson said: “I got a touch on it so I’ll be trying to claim it.
“It was an important goal, because we’d had a couple of poor home results.
“It was a great response to the Chesterfield defeat and it just shows the determination and desire within the squad to bounce back.
“We’d been going through a difficult patch and it’s been that little bit harder for us to get a little bit of luck.
“But we worked extremely hard for the win and it was a good team performance.
“It seemed like the pieces in the jigsaw all fell into place and we have a good squad.”
