Marcus Bean is hoping his encouraging early-season form for Colchester United is a sign of things to come.

The experienced midfielder has made an impressive start to life at the U’s, following his summer move from League One rivals Brentford.

Bean was man-of-the-match in Colchester’s 1-1 draw with Sheffield United, last Saturday.

Having started all three of their games in League One so far this season, the Jamaica international is keen to build on a promising start at his new club.

Bean said: “It’s just the start of things and hopefully I can build on it.

“I thought that I played quite well against Sheffield United.

“It’s always nice to get man of the match and I’d like to thank everyone for their support.”

Marcus is the player us fans have been calling for since we have been at the new stadium. He'll be player of the year for sure, just hope he can score ten or more goals this season to match his workrate!
