U's see off Maldon and Tiptree in latest friendly

On target - Freddie Sears scored Colchester's opening goal at Maldon and Tiptree.
Colchester United ran out 2-1 winners in their latest pre-season friendly.
The U's beat Ryman League division one north side Maldon and Tiptree 2-1 at Park Drive, thanks to goals from Freddie Sears and Drey Wright.
Mitchell Das scored Maldon and Tiptree's consolation goal.
Colchester fielded a strong side, with the likes of Sears, Clinton Morrison and skipper Kem Izzet all starting.
The remaining senior players in the U's squad who did not feature in the Maldon and Tiptree game will figure in Colchester's friendly at Brentwood this afternoon (kick-off 2pm).
