Well done Mr Ward . He is a nice age only 22 so lets hope he turns into the next Jordan Rhodes. I'm sure this will make us all feel a lot happier and unite the supporters. Best news we have had for ages.

Agreed Crazy, great addition. Hopefully can discover some of that promise that gave him U21 international football with the U's.

What a good signing..

Freddie's Ears...and we got the rest of him for free too.

Hopefully will play at the apex of our attack and not like last season (e.g. wide with Gillie and Hendo leading line). Let's give the lad a chance - and maybe play young Lapado too (whom I think could bruise a few centre halves).

mmm.
About 3 goals in 58 games I believe. Good hard worker though, but needs to toughen up a lot.

Two would be nice but I doubt it will happen. Perhaps time for Ladepo to be used.

Agree the above. Think Lapado will be a bench regular this season. Probably need a more experienced striker in the mix too to help the young guys out. NOT Teddy Sheringham again though....

I'm all in favour of the youngsters being blooded and I must admit I was pushing for Freddie to be given his chance last season. Buy hey presto I was wrong on this ocassion and J.W. was right on his decision not to play him just yet in the first team. I watched Freddie in a couple of mid week games and though he has lots of pace and bags of energy, his football skills do need improving. He is still very raw but now that we have this new training ground in place i'm sure that will be worked on and we shall see Freddie lining up on the subs bench very soon.

Good move, as I feel this might be the right level for him to get his scoring boots on. We needed this news after losing 3 forwards, and hoping he forms a good partnership with Lapado. Although could do with another striker, perhaps on loan.

Im normally negative so today I am happy to be positive for once! I doubted we could match his wage demands but we have. He will score goals given a regular slot at this level. Fair play to Ward he admitted he didnt play him enough last season. 3 more big signings please!

Good news this. We get money for Gilly and we get Freddie on a free. Well down Ward and Cowling. He may not have looked a potent threat last season but he always looked like he was playing whilst looking over his shoulder and with West Ham obviously looking to off load him and only being a sub for most of the time with us he probably wasn't overly settled. He's first choice now and he can really push on. This could be one of THE signings of the last decade for us. Great stuff.

So far at the last count it was 15 yes's, all happy bunnies at the good news. So that leaves nobody to pick on now apart from me Super. Just hope now that J.W. will sign another frontman to play alongside him. We dont want to see him fighting up front on his own.

Haven't really seen much of Ladepo just read reports.

I think a lot of people would have said the same about Lua Lua at the start, pace but skills needed improving. But it worked shoving him in early.

Perhaps again.....

Great signing, a young player full of ambition and enthusiasm - more of this and the club will be moving in the right direction
