Richard Hall has challenged Colchester United’s senior players to stake their claim for a First-team recall at Concord Rangers tonight.
The U’s will field an experienced side in their Essex Senior Cup semi-final.
First-team regulars such as Kem Izzet, Kayode Odejayi, Matt Heath and Andrew Bond will all feature against the Ryman League Premier outfit.
The likes of Lloyd James, Ben Coker and Michael Rose are also in the squad for the tie, all intent on impressing first-team manager John Ward.
U’s reserve-team boss Richard Hall believes there is plenty of incentive for his players to perform well.
Hall said: “The manager and Joe Dunne will be there tonight.
“Some players missed out at Yeovil and it’s their chance to prove to the manager that they deserve a chance against Rochdale, on Saturday.
“It’s a case of them rolling their sleeves up and showing him that they are worthy of a start.
“There’s plenty of competition for places in the squad at the moment and that can only be a good thing.”
