IAN Henderson can be a key player in Colchester United’s promotion chase, according to boss Aidy Boothroyd.
And the tenacious utility man is ready to give his all to ensure the U’s realise their dream of returning to the Coca-Cola Championship.
Henderson was handed his first Colchester start in their 2-1 defeat at Carlisle United, last weekend.
The former Norwich City trainee made a positive impression in a left-midfield role at Brunton Park.
Henderson’s enterprising attacking play led to Tom Taiwo being sent off, as the Cumbrians struggled to deal with him.
But the U’s man himself was cautioned and he was taken off at half-time, for fear of him being sent off in the second half.
Henderson, who was sent off as a substitute on his Colchester debut against Norwich City, has vowed not to alter his all-action style.

The fact that Aidy thinks that Henderson can be a key player in the promotion push says it all about his current thinking. We have far better players out on loan 'to get matches under their belt'. This tool will be lucky to do 90mins without getting sent off, not to mention he's not very good either!
