Colchester United head coach John McGreal has reiterated that he is reluctant to make too many alterations to his squad when the transfer window opens next month.

McGreal revealed last week that he is cautious not to ‘rock the boat’ and bring in new signings for the sake of it in January.

The U’s boss is pleased with the way his side are performing in League Two at present and they go into their game at fellow promotion contenders Swindon Town tomorrow night knowing that a win will take them into the play-off positions, for 24 hours at least.

McGreal said: “The team’s playing well and we don’t want to change things too much, next month.

“We have a ton of games before January and it will be a really important period, in the season.

“We have to look at the Swindon game before we start looking at what recruitment we need to do, in January.

“Then we’ll get together with Tony Humes and Robbie Cowling and go through what our thought process is going to be.

“But we have games coming thick and fast and I don’t want to take our mind off the games.”

Colchester’s under-18s will be looking to book a FA Youth Cup fourth-round tie against MK Dons tonight.
