John McGreal believes today's opponents Exeter City are in a false position in League Two.

Colchester United play host to the Grecians at the Weston Homes Community Stadium with their visitors currently languishing second from bottom in the table.

Paul Tisdale’s have tasted victory only once in the league this season but U’s boss McGreal is wary of their threat.

McGreal said: “It’ll be a tough game and we’re know what Exeter are about.

“Looking at what they’ve done on the tapes and reports, they’re in a little bit of a false position after conceding late goals and penalties.

“Their philosophy is to try and play football and we don’t expect anything different on Saturday.

“We’ll be on our guard and hopefully we can get the three points.

“The boys are looking forward to playing at home.

“We’ve had two great results there against Cambridge and Grimsby and we’re hoping for another one against Exeter."

Colchester will be missing Doug Loft, Frankie Kent, Louis Dunne and Owen Garvan for the Exeter clash, while Matt Briggs is a long-time absentee.

Craig Slater and James Bransgrove are also both unavailable as they are on international duty with Scotland under-21s along with new signing Glen Kamara, who is currently with the Finland under-21 squad.

Macauley Bonne will also be unavailable as he has joined National League outfit Lincoln City until the end of next month.
