Kevin Keen believes Colchester United’s win over Doncaster Rovers has given everyone renewed hope that they can still avoid relegation from League One.

The U’s moved off the bottom of the table after launching a superb second-half comeback to beat Rovers 4-1 on Good Friday and now lie eight points off safety, with eight matches remaining.

Colchester will be looking to follow up their victory with another positive result at Coventry City tomorrow night and U's boss Keen said: “We’ll keep trying to win until we’re up or we’re down – this club has a habit of late comebacks in the season.

“I think we’ve made it very tough for ourselves but with performances, effort and determination and team ethic like that gives the supporters hope and me hope.

“The performances in the last three games have been top drawer – the first half against Doncaster wasn’t great but the second half more than made up for that and the boys showed everyone what they can do.

“We’ve got to go on and win a few more but at least we’ve come off the bottom of the league and that’s a positive.”
