Colchester United will host Blackpool on the opening day of the new Sky Bet League One season.
The U's will take on the Tangerines at the Weston Homes Community Stadium in their curtain-raiser on August 8.
It is the second successive season that Colchester will start the new campaign at home.
And Tony Humes' side will face a Blackpool side who will be adjusting to life in the third tier under new manager Neil McDonald, following their relegation from the Championship last season.
Colchester will follow that game up with a trip to play Peterborough United at London Road, on August 15.
And they then have another home game on Tuesday, August 18 when they play host to Oldham Athletic.
A trip to Fleetwood Town (August 22) and a home game against Scunthorpe United (August 29) complete the U's opening month's fixtures.
With their Capital One Cup clash with Reading in the opening week of the season also at home, it means that four of Colchester's first six league and cup fixtures in the first month of the new campaign will be at the Community Stadium.
Colchester are at home to newly-promoted Essex rivals Southend United on Boxing Day.
And they will only have to wait less than six weeks for the return meeting, with the U's to play Phil Brown's side at Roots Hall on February 6.
Colchester will finish the season with a home game against Rochdale, on May 8.
