Out-of-favour duo Sean Clohessy and Sanchez Watt have been training with Colchester United’s under-21s this week.

The pair have been left out of the U’s squad to play Crawley Town in their crucial basement battle at the Weston Homes Community Stadium tomorrow.

Clohessy has not featured for Colchester following his reaction to being substituted in the 2-0 defeat at Doncaster Rovers, last month.

And Watt has not played since their 3-2 defeat at the hands of Crewe on February 7 and has fallen down the pecking order at the U’s.

U’s assistant manager Richard Hall said: “Sanchez and Sean have been training with the under-21s.

“I don’t think Sean will be involved on Saturday.

“It doesn’t have any effect on the dressing room at all, not in this case.

“Sanchez Watt won’t be involved with the squad either.

“Injuries have forced our hand a little bit.

“But I should imagine this will be the core group we maintain for the rest of the season.”
