COLCHESTER United midfielder David Fox has admitted he and his team-mates “let a lot of people down” in Saturday’s disastrous 6-0 defeat at MK Dons.
The crushing setback was the club’s heaviest league defeat for more than 20 years and was also their fourth successive loss in League One.
Midfielder Fox said the players were “very hurt” after their dismal performance.
And they know they let people down, including the club’s loyal travelling fans and boss Tony Humes.
“There are a lot of very hurt players and we let a lot of people down, especially the fans that had travelled,” he said.
