MACAULEY Bonne will reap the rewards of his first taste of international football.
That is the view of Colchester United coach Wayne Brown, following the youngster’s debut for Zimbabwe.
U’s striker Bonne was named in an under-23 side to face Morocco’s full team, at the State Adrar stadium, in Agadir, on Sunday night.
And he had an experience to remember, playing the full 90 minutes and capping the display with a goal after 19 minutes.
Morocco battled back and scored twice in the second half to secure a 2-1 victory.
Nevertheless, Brown, who has watched the youngster progress through the club’s ranks, described Bonne’s adventure as a “great opportunity”.
