SAM Walker insists there is no danger of Colchester United’s bubble being burst by their defeat at Barnsley.

The U’s were pipped 3-2 in a League One thriller at Oakwell on Friday night.

However, they took plaudits for their performance and refused to wave the white flag, battling until the bitter end.

Walker says that despite finishing empty-handed, he and his team-mates are still feeling buoyant – and won’t let one defeat affect their mood.

“Our confidence comes from the way we’re playing,” said the shot-stopper, who hinted that he might be in a position to sign a new contract at the club this week.

“Sometimes results haven’t gone our way but performances have generally been pretty good.

“That breeds positivity and even when things don’t go well, we’re very good at bouncing back and refocusing our minds and energy on the next game.
