Not so long ago, Alex Gilbey was dreaming of playing at some of English football’s most illustrious grounds.
Tonight, Colchester United’s teenage midfielder is likely to get the chance to tick one of them off his list.
Gilbey, 19, is expected to be part of a U’s side aiming to beat League One leaders Wolverhampton Wanderers on their own patch.
And Colchester’s former youth-team skipper is relishing the opportunity to play at Molineux, a venue with rich football history.
Gilbey said: “It’s a game that you look at when you’re younger and want to play in.
“When you’re a youngster, a place like Molineux is where you want to be involved."
