Sanchez Watt has vowed to make Colchester United’s fans proud after the U’s finally got their man.
The pacy forward has signed a two-year deal at the Weston Homes Community Stadium following his release by Arsenal, where he had previously spent his whole career.
Watt, 22, impressed while on loan at Colchester last season, where his eye-catching performances proved a big hit with the supporters and prompted boss Joe Dunne to chase the youngster’s permanent signature.
And after spurning interest from other clubs in order to join the U’s, Watt has pledged to do his utmost to provide more of the same for them in League One in the forthcoming campaign.
Watt said: “I want to make the fans proud and I’m happy to know that they want me here.
“It’s good to be wanted and to have got my place and my home – it’s my time to shine."
