Defiant Dunne is sticking by his principles
9:18am Wednesday 16th January 2013 in Colchester Utd By Jonathan Waldron
Strong feeling - Joe Dunne is standing by his philosophies as Colchester United manager.
Joe Dunne has insisted he will not abandon his football principles in the wake of Colchester United’s losing run.
Dunne admitted he was left contemplating his future as U’s boss in the aftermath of his side’s defeat against fellow strugglers Scunthorpe United.
However, he has since been given the full support of chairman Robbie Cowling, who has backed him to turn Colchester’s fortunes around.
Dunne said he does not regret what he said in the minutes that followed the U’s loss against Scunthorpe last Saturday, their ninth defeat in a row.
And he is adamant that he will not shift from his philosophy of seeing Colchester play free-flowing football - at every level.
Dunne said: “I stand by what I said - I feel very strongly about what I want to bring to the football club.
“I believe what I’m trying to do is right, as it’s the future of football over the next ten years."

He obviously knows there are not the players capable of doing this already there hence the volume of loan players to see which can perform to his plan.
The 'dead wood' as we call it will be moving on in due course, I can't see anyone coming in to buy them so it's waiting until their contract expires.
The rot goes back to Boothroyd I feel, remember how shocking the play was then. At least Ward tried to play more but became too negative or 'safe'
I know it hurts at the moment, no one likes to see our team lose, and it will take time to get it right.
Modern attitudes of players don't help. I was always told to do what my manager asked, now it's all about massaging fragile temprements.
Keep the faith, after all, Joe is 'one of us'. i for one think and hope he will turn this round and we can all look forward to a rosy future, success and good football.

If I were boss I would chuck the youngsters in now, it works for me and the olden's either perk up or p off? I know people are going to say that we will still have to pay them but in the short term it will sort the wheat out from the chaff and we will see who truly wants it at the club.
I think it's clear what Joe is trying to do. flowing football which is good to watch to bring the crowds back.
