U's will learn from Yeovil defeat, insists Dunne

Colchester United manager Joe Dunne insisted his players will learn from their 3-1 defeat at Yeovil Town this afternoon.

The U's lost their first match under Dunne after a brace from debutant Paddy Madden and a further strike James Hayter gave the Glovers victory, with Jabo Ibehre scoring the visitors' consolation.

Dunne said: "Yeovil put us under a lot of pressure.

"I thought that we controlled the possession in the first half and if you look at the goals, I think that they're individual mistakes.

"You can't legislate for that but like I've always said since I took over, I want us to play a certain way and we showed progression in the first half.

"We're going to make mistakes trying to play that way and sometimes you're going to get punished.

"We have to be brave and I'm not changing; we have to learn from today which is what we'll do."

Dunne out!....ha ha.

We didnt become world beaters after two wins so wont be despondent after a defeat. Have to accept defeats now and again with the way we are playing now which is much better to watch. Hope we put a strong side out Tuesday. Wembley!!!

Half the U's players thought the game was won before the game started. Far to casual and sloppy with passing. Mark Cousins indecisive couple times, yet made some very good saves, but in my mind, cost us their first goal. Roll on the next match.

I listened to this yesterday. It appears that Yeovil are our new bogey team.

The same result as in the cup on our first game of the season should be approached as a slap on the wrists for the players and not over analysed.

They sounded very sloppy, lazy and not as hungry as Yeovil.

Another win please u's
