U's boss Dunne delighted with performance
10:20pm Tuesday 2nd October 2012 in Sport By Jonathan Waldron
Delighted Colchester United manager Joe Dunne hailed his players' efforts after their claimed a fine 1-0 win at Swindon Town.
Michael Rose's free-kick proved to be the winner at the County Ground, as the U's claimed back-to-back wins under their new boss.
Dunne said: "We've asked them to be brave again and I said to them before the game that we needed to get something from it to see how far we could take it.
"It was very important that we kept trying to do the right things.
"We tried to play out from the back and the attitude was spot on.
"The players gave their all and that was the reward we got.
"It's going to take time because there will be days when it doesn't work.
"The pace of the game was good for us and while what we did on the ball was good, what pleased me the most was what we did off the ball.
"We dealt with Swindon's really good players very well."

The football we are playing is top draw and the three loan players have lifted the club to another level, keep taking it day by day train hard and we'll be in the top six at christmas. Up the U's!

Great result, although having seen the boys on saturday I half expected it!

If we were still under Ward, I would of expected a lose. But I was confident before yesterdays game because of Saturday. And once again the procession and attacking mentality was continued great work JD and Co.
Up the U's!

Hmmmm? Cheap option! Lacking imagination by RC! To closely aligned to JW! Club going down hill fast! Won't go again! Wish I had not bought my season ticket! Etc etc etc ...... I shall say no more. Well done to date Joe & Mark and I hope the cynics stay with you when (inevitably) at some point you will have a bad result. Up the U's.

He has only won two games! There are plenty of better managers out there no doubt and he was the cheap option BUT he has my support. I wanted Ward out and he has gone so will support Dunne. Cant say someone is brilliant after two games.
