Moorhouse's Paralympic medal bid comes to an end

SCOTT Moorhouse’s quest for a paralympic medal has come to an end.
The Essex University student finished seventh in Friday’s F42 javelin final at the Olympic Stadium, in London.
Moorhouse threw a season’s best 45 metres 30cms, down on his personal best of 47.33m set in 2011 which at the time moved him to second in the world.
The 23-year-old’s PB would have secured a bronze at the Beijing Games four years ago.
However, that was eclipsed by China’s Yanlong Fu who, with his last throw of the event, snatched the win with a world record 52.79m.
He had been sitting in fourth place with 48.02m before his gold medal winning throw.
Iran’s Kamran Shokrisalari had been leading the event following his second round throw of 52.06m, going into the final round, but had to settle for silver.
The bronze medal went to Norway’s Runar Steinstad with a final throw of 48.90m.
