Morrison: we need to grow up and be leaders on the pitch
Clinton Morrison feels Colchester United’s players need to "grow up" to ensure there is no repeat of their second-half display at Tranmere Rovers.
The U’s suffered a capitulation after the break as a situation where they were well in the game quickly turned into a 4-0 drubbing and their first League One defeat of the season.
They will be looking to set the record straight at Brentford tomorrow, but Morrison feels players need to stand up and be counted for that to happen.
And the experienced striker says it’s not just the older members of the squad who need to lead the way.
He said: “We can’t just buckle and go under.
“No disrespect to Tranmere and I know they’ve had a good start to the season, but we shouldn’t be losing 4-0 to them.
“I wouldn’t swap any of their players for any of ours.
“That’s my honest opinion and we shouldn’t be going there and losing like that.
“You can have an off day – and we did in that second half – but we shouldn’t have collapsed like we did.
“We have to grow up.
“Everyone has to grow up because we need leaders out there."

Obviously when you give Captaincy to players like Heath, Izzet etc the game might aswell not have leadership. As these players should be questioned on why they are even on the pitch in the first place.
Magnus was Captain when Lambert was in charge, and to me I felt he done a good job.
