O'Toole urged to stay after being offered new U's deal

John-Joe O’Toole has been urged to stay at Colchester United after being offered a new deal.

The tough-tackling U’s midfielder has experienced a frustrating campaign which has been disrupted by injury.

O’Toole, 23, made just eight starts for Colchester in League One, in the 2011-12 season.

But he has been given the opportunity to stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium beyond this summer.

And manager John Ward has urged the former Watford man to stay put and rediscover his best form.

Ward said: “John-Joe has been offered a new contract.

“He’s a player we know all about here and I’m saying to him that it’s a case of the devil he knows."
