All eyes will be on Roy Keane when Ipswich Town and Reading step out at Portman Road tomorrow.

The lukewarm message coming out of Portman Road is he will be staying in charge, but for how long?

The nation has been bracing itself for, if the national press are to be believed, the axing of Town’s controversial manager, which was reported to be happening this week.

It hasn’t happened, though, despite Keane seemingly loading the gun himself when he went on a rant prior to Saturday’s goal-less draw at Swansea, criticising the club’s fans, its heritage and former star Paul Mariner, who is in charge of Plymouth Argyle and masterminded an embarrassing defeat for Town in their last home game.

Whether Keane’s future rests on tomorrow’s visit of Reading, and perhaps their trip to Derby County on Easter Monday, nobody knows.

Owner and chairman Marcus Evans has said nothing, so as far as Keane and his players are concerned, it is carry on regardless.
