Shanee Martin hopes it’s a case of third time lucky when she has another crack at winning a world title fight.
The Colchester fighter has jetted out to Japan for a World Boxing Association (WBA) bout with home favourite and reigning champion Tsunami Tenkai.
It takes place in Kobe on Sunday and Martin, of Gladiator Way, will be hoping for more success than she enjoyed in her two previous attempts, in 2007.
She lost against Hungary’s Victoria Milo in Budapest and then, four months later, finished second best against Turkey’s Suzi Kenticken, in Germany.
