Keane: we need to show more killer instinct

Roy Keane lamented Ipswich Town’s lack of killer instinct after today's goal-less draw against Sheffield Wednesday at Portman Road.

The Blues were held to their fifth draw in six games after Owls goalkeeper Lee Grant denied Lee Martin, Owen Garvan, Alan Quinn and Jon Stead.

Tamas Priskin had a goal ruled out for offside but, overall, it was a less than convincing display from the struggling Blues.

Town boss Keane said: “It wasn’t a great game but we had the better chances.

“We’re looking a lot more solid at the back but we’re obviously not scoring enough.

“Sometimes you have to give credit to the opposition goalkeeper, but I still feel we had one or two other chances.

“There was one on the line and you just need someone to have that killer instinct and put the ball in the back of the net.

“We’re lacking that at the moment and the fact we’re not scoring enough goals puts us under pressure."
