BRIGHTLINGSEA Regent have confirmed the management team for their new reserve team.

The R's second string will be playing step six football next season, having accepted an invitation to play in the new Thurlow Nunn League division one (south).

Lee Clark will be the team's manager, assisted by Glen Last.

UEFA B coach Adam Munn - previously first-team coach at Burnham Ramblers and within the West Ham Academy - is coming in as head coach and Ritchie Meadows will remain as player-coach, while Alan Long and Ritchie Russell will remain in the roles they held under former manager Sam Day.

“I’m pleased to now be in a position to announce the new set up for the reserves," said Regent chairman Terry Doherty.

"Since Sam stepped down, it’s been a priority to replace him with a person with a similar work ethic and somebody who will also buy into what we're trying to achieve at Brightlingsea.

"With the announcement of step six football for the reserves, I feel we have even more to offer young, local talented players and it’s imperative that as a club we now look to really strengthen the link from youth football into the Academy, through to the under-18s, into the reserves and eventually right up to the first team.

"I believe there’s a real pathway and it’s an exciting and positive time for the club that we can offer such a high level of football for all our teams."
