SIX Colchester Swimming Club members will compete against Britain’s best swimmers on the national stage after successfully qualifying for this year’s British Summer Championships.

Naythan Aung, Elinor Duley, Martha Duley, Sophie Freeman, Olivia Norman and Asma Parker will all represent Colchester SC at the Championships, which take place across six days at Ponds Forge in Sheffield from July 24-29.

Colchester SC head coach Michelle Young said: “The British Championships are the pinnacle of the National events calendar and only the very best swimmers are invited to compete based on national rankings.

"For a club of our size to have six swimmers compete at this level is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work and dedication of the swimmers and our coaches.

"We are exceptionally proud of them all.”

The six Colchester SC swimmers will compete in the following events: Naythan Aung (100 back), Elinor Duley (50 free, 50 fly and 100 fly), Martha Duley (50 free, 100 free, 50 back, 100 back and 200 back), Sophie Freeman (50 free, 100 free, 200 free, 400 free, 800 free, 1500 free, 50 back, 100 back, 200 back, 50 fly, 100 fly, 200 fly, 200 IM and 400 IM), Olivia Norman (200 back) and Asma Parker (50 back and 50 fly).
