BEING quiet really doesn’t get you anywhere in boxing.

There’s fighters that are humble and respectful and there’s the ones that are loud-mouthed and troll other fighters on Twitter and Facebook - and they're the ones that get ahead!

They land the big fights because they draw the attention towards them, whether it’s in the right way or not.

For me, I’d rather be myself, perform well and sell lots of tickets to shows to do it in the right way.

The thing is, tickets are actually the most important thing in boxing.

If a boxer can sell 500 tickets to a fight, then they will be very well looked after, kept busy and offered all the big fights on all the big shows.

Fighters that don’t sell a lot of tickets have to work harder, regardless of ability.

It’s tough enough just training and cutting weight, but then you have to double up as a salesman and run around the local area putting up posters and dropping off tickets to people at all hours.

Sometimes I think I’d rather get in there and fight another prospect and take big risks that could potentially put you back a step if it doesn’t pay off.

If you sell enough tickets to every fight then eventually you get on a massive Sky Sports show and hit the big time.

I see fighters on these big O2 Arena events that aren’t as good as some of the boxers on the small hall shows that I fight on but the difference is the money they bring in.

It comes down to support and people really need to get out there and back their local fighter.

I sell just enough tickets to be able to pay the costs involved with professional fighting.

Not many people know this but the opponent has to be paid to come to your home show so I have to sell at least 70 tickets in order to pay their expenses, the house, trainer and corner-man.

It’s the reason why boxers are always looking for sponsorship support.

In order to be known as a big ticket-seller, you need to sell over 150 tickets, which means I’d have to double my ticket sales to reach that number.

It’s a big amount but when you compare it to having close to 2,000 Facebook friends, then it’s not even ten per cent and it makes you think that you should really be getting more in attendance.

I want to let it be known that my support is amazing and I’m so grateful to all of the friends and family that do come and watch me. I can’t thank you all enough.

Of all the sports I could’ve chosen, I picked the hardest one in the world!
