HAPPY New Year to you all!

I hope everyone had a safe and enjoyable night bringing in the New Year.

I stayed in with my fiancé and watched the fireworks on telly.

We were planning on going out to a friend’s party but the thought of booking cabs and getting there and back again…so we just stayed at home, cooked a nice meal and watched a film together.

It was probably the quietest New Year’s Eve I’ve ever had in my life!

It was nice to wake up on New Year’s Day fresh and active and I went for a run to start the year on the right track.

It’s not just that night that you need to think about.

If you wake up the next day feeling bad and having eaten rubbish, it puts you back another three or four days, especially for me having to stick within a weight limit.

I just want a big year this year and my fight is only eight weeks come this Saturday.

Training camps can just fly by and before you know, it’s fight night.

Everyone has gone back to work this week and by the time you’re reading this, you would have made it through the first week back, so well done!

January has a habit of flying past quickly so I’ll be training hard in the gym to get back on track.

I have been ticking over since my last fight anyway so that I could start this next camp fresh and fit.

Ever since my last fight in December, I have been asking my trainer, matchmaker and promoter to get me back out straight away, and, fortunately, they delivered for me.

Funnily enough, I’ll actually be working through this training camp but it’ll be for family so should be a bit more relaxed and can take time out to go to sparring and gym sessions.

The job is in Chelmsford where I train, which means the gym is just two minutes away from where I’ll be.

I had some great sparring in my last camp so I’ll definitely be looking at getting the same level in again.

I regularly go to the Peacock Gym in London to mix it with Anthony Yarde, who is currently nine fights unbeaten with eight knockouts.

He’s already fought in America on the undercard of Mexican superstar Canelo’s last fight and got a first round KO.

There’s over half-a-dozen unbeaten prospects on the March 11 York Hall show that I’ll be fighting on, so there’s some top talent on display.

It will be a great night of boxing and I really recommend that you buy a ticket.
