CASTLE Amateur Boxing Club's Sam Ives earned an impressive victory at Five Star ABC's Christmas boxing show in Harold Hill.
He represented the Colchester-based club against the home club's Lamar Douglas, in the 68 kilogramme novice class category.
Ives impressed in his second bout, as both boxers fought hard over the three rounds.
The first round was a close call, with both boxers coming out strongly.
However, Ives edged ahead in the second round, working behind the jab and following through with strong counter punching.
The third round was concluded with Ives working hard right to the end, to secure an impressive unanimous win.
